Description:  Come out to Highland County for an authentic country market.  The Highland Country Market supports local farmers and food-based businesses by offering locally-grown produce and value-added food items.  Items for sale include seasonal produce such as berries, fruits, vegetables and flowers; homemade breads, cakes, cookies and pies; and specialty items such as maple syrup, jams and jellies, salsas and chutneys, farm fresh eggs and Highland County select lamb cuts.
Directions:  From the intersection of Routes 250 and 220 in Monterey, follow the scarecrows, two blocks west on Route 250.  Turn left onto Spruce Street, go 2.5 blocks, watching for the Highland Center on the right.  The Market is held on the front grounds in the market pavilion.
Hours:  3:30-6 p.m., Fridays, June through September.
Activities:  The Hands & Harvest Farmers’ Market takes place the second weekend in October in conjunction with the Hands & Harvest Festival.  Other special events are listed on our Web site.
