Special Comments:  The Herds Inn at Hedgebrook Farm is a restored log home, moved from South Boston, Virginia.  Constructed from hand-hewn logs from 19th century tobacco barns, the cabin also features recycled, reclaimed and reused lumber throughout.  The Herds Inn offers a log cabin experience, as well as a farming experience.  The cabin sleeps 8 people.  Farm breakfast available on the weekends.  Come share your stories, sit on your porch, enjoy the animals and the view of four mountain ranges.  See you at The Herds Inn.

Directions:  From I-81, exit 310 onto Route 37 north.  Proceed 2 miles to the Opequon exit.  Turn left onto Route 622 (Cedar Creek Grade); go approximately 2 miles to village of Opequon; go left across bridge and proceed approximately 2.5 miles; turn left onto Barley Lane (Route 732).  Farm is the first driveway on the right. 
Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., weekends, beginning third weekend in September through October.  Group tours scheduled during the week. Call for other times or special events for your group.
Special Comments:  Haunted Nightmares haunted house with special effects and hi-tech electronics covering 4,500 sq. ft., an inflatable haunt for children 12 and under, and an 8-acre corn maze that the whole family will enjoy.  Hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Take a stroll through the orchard and pick your own apples. Make it a family tradition to come to Hill High Farm in the fall. Many families already do.  Harvest Festival second weekend of October - apple butter making, fresh baked pies, country ham sandwiches-lots of fun for all at our Virginia Century Farm.  We offer birthday parties, company outings, etc. Come out and visit our family farm and enjoy a delightful autumn day in the Shenandoah Valley. Don’t forget your camera.

Directions:  From I-81, exit 310 onto Route 37 north.  Proceed approximately 2 miles to Route 622.  Turn left on Route 622; go 3¼ miles; farm is on the left. 
Hours:  9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, July 1 until Thanksgiving, 12 noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, September & October.  Other times, call for hours.
Special Comments:  Opening Festival first Saturday in July.  Peach Festival, second Saturday in August.  Fall Farm Festival, fourth Saturday in September.  Apple Harvest Festival,  Columbus Day weekend.  Festivals have music, wagon rides, barrel train, and lots of food.  Also have in-house bakery. 
Products:  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked available as follows:  July-Lodi apples, plums, and peaches; August-peaches, plums, Ginger Gold and Gala apples; September 1-Honeycrisp apples, followed by the fall apples.  PYO starts September 1.  All season our bakery features pies, cakes and our famous apple-cider donuts.  Also have jams, jellies, salad dressings, honey and fruit wines.

Directions:  Take I-81 exit 302 and follow signs to Middletown.  At the traffic light, turn right (west) on Route 627 (Chapel Road) and travel 1 mile.  Orchard is on the right.
Hours:  9:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday; 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday; closed Sunday.  Open approximately August 1-October 31.
Special Comments:  We are conveniently located only 3 miles from the intersection of I-66 and I-81.  Just follow the signs to Middletown.
Products:  Fresh-picked peaches, apples and pumpkins.  Peach varieties include John Boy, Sunhigh, Loring, Cresthaven, and Redskin.  Apple varieties include Red Delicious, Ida Red, Golden Delicious, Stayman, and York.  Pumpkins start October 1.  Dates may vary depending on the season.

Special Comments:  A Peach/Milliner (Hand-Made Hats) Festival, third Sunday in August, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  Vendors from all over will be demonstrating the art of making beautiful handmade hats and will have hats for sale.  Call for details.  Clam-and-Oyster Bake and B-B-Q chicken, cooked on property, with live music the fourth Saturday in September.  Call for details and reservations in September.  Apple Harvest Festival, third weekend in October with free bluegrass music both days, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday.  Also pick-your-own flowers, August until frost. Hours:  6 a.m.-9 p.m., daily, year round.  Closed Christmas Day.
Special Comments:  Home of Shawnee Springs brand fruit products, including 13 flavors of fruit butters; 27 types of preserves, jams and jellies.  Home to our famous canned peaches.  We also have Virginia hams, fresh-baked pies and breads. Full-service deli serves breakfast and lunch.  Seasonal gift items available year-round.  The farm market is grower owned and operated.

Directions:  I-81 to exit 307, Stephens City.  East off the exit and proceed through the lights, approximately 4.5 miles.  The market will be located on your right, and is just 3/10 of a mile from the intersection of Route 340 and Route 522.

Special Comments:  Home-grown fruits and vegetables from our Virginia Century Farm in a second and convenient location.  Bedding plants and hanging baskets available from our greenhouse, and fall mums grown right here.  Pumpkins, gourds and fall squash also grown in our garden here, and our beef cattle graze in the background. 
Products:  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked peaches beginning July 4, including Sun High, Loring, Coral Star, Bounty, Red Skin, Snow King.  Apples, including Ginger Gold, Gala, Golden Supreme, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Fuji, and York.  Also available are tomatoes, squash, green beans, peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, gourds, and fall and winter squash.  Steaks, roasts, and ground beef available frozen.  Coming Spring 2008, pick your own strawberries.

Directions:  I-81 to exit #301, Stephens City.  Turn west off the exit and proceed through the lights, approximately 4 miles.  Turn left at the stop sign onto Route 628, Middle Road.  In approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Route 638, Clark Road.  The market is located one mile on the right.  Look for the blue farm sign at the bottom of the hill.

Special Comments:  Enjoy a beautiful drive through the Northern Shenandoah Valley.  Our market is located right on our Virginia Century Farm, where we grow peaches, apples, plums, garden vegetables, and ornamental and bedding plants.
Products:  Fresh-picked peaches beginning July 4th, including Sun High, Loring, Coral Star, Bounty Redskin, and Snow King.  Apples, including Ginger Gold, Gala, Golden Supreme, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Fuji, and York.  Tomatoes, squash, green beans, peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, gourds, and fall and winter squash are also available.  Bushel quantities available for canning.

Special Comments:  Farm market featuring a dozen varieties of fresh baked pies; preserves and jelly (with and without sugar); Virginia sugar-cured country hams; jug-your-own fresh-squeezed cider (free samples) mid-September - first week of December.  Tour buses welcome.  School tours welcome with appointment.  Picnic area.  Mail order brochure. Pumpkin Land with storybook characters and photo area, September 15-October 31. 
Products:  Fresh-picked and select-your-own Virginia freestone peaches (mid-July until Labor Day).  July peaches include Earli Glo, Topaz, Early Red Haven and Red Haven.  August peaches include Sun High, Glo Haven, Loring, Bounty, Crest Haven and Flaming Fury.  Harvest dates are approximate and the varieties are in season for about a week.  Please call for current varieties. Fresh-picked and select-your-own apples are available from late August through the first week of December.  Varieties include Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Ginger Gold, Stayman, Rome Beauty, Granny Smith, Ida Red, Gala, Fuji, Nittany, Empire, Honey Crisp, Jonathan, Crispin, Jonagold Cameo and Pink Lady.  Some varieties are only available a few weeks, while others are available for three months.  Please call for current varieties.  Thousands of pumpkins from 3 ounces to 100 pounds with corn stalks, gourds, winter squash and Indian corn from early September until October 31.

Directions:  Take exit 296 off I-81.  Go west on Route 55 towards Wardensville, West Virginia.  Approximately 3.5 miles on your left will be our farm market.
Hours:  9 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesday-Monday; closed Tuesday; late April through November.
Special Comments:  We are a Century Farm.  We grow our own apples, peaches, beef, pumpkins and some vegetables.  We have a bakery with pies, cookies, breads and country ham sandwiches, to name a few things.  We strive to offer the freshest produce at a reasonable price.
