VIRGINIA AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN MALAYSIAN FOOD AND HOTEL SHOW AUGUST 11 – 14, 2009
Contact: Elaine Lidholm, 804.786.7686
The global export market is expanding dramatically, and many Virginia companies are marketing their agricultural products successfully overseas. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) offers producers the opportunity to introduce their products to Malaysia through a partnership with the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA).
SUSTA is participating in Food and Hotel Malaysia 2009, the official food and hotel show in the country. The show is held every two years and is open to trade visitors only. The Propak 2009 and Culinaire Malaysia 2009, the region’s largest culinary competition, will take place at the same time. Best candidates for export to Malaysia are fruits, dairy products, dried fruits and nuts, juices, sauces and condiments, vegetables, Halah Food products and snack foods.
Producers who are unable to attend the show may send samples for a product display. There is a $25 participation fee.
Information for participants:
- Event date: August 11 - 14, 2009
- Registration deadline to attend the Food and Hotel Show: June 12, 2009. No refunds for participation fees after June 19, 2009.
- Cost for participants attending the show:
- Booth fee (nine square meters): $432
- Airfare and lodging for each participant
