VIRGINIA’S FINEST VENDORS EXHIBIT AT FARM BUREAU ANNUAL CONVENTION
Contact: Elaine Lidholm, 804.786.7686
As part of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention at The Homestead, six Virginia’s Finest vendors and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) staffed exhibits showcasing products that have earned the state’s quality trademark seal. Introduced in 1989, The Virginia's Finest Trademark Program was developed to identify, differentiate and promote top quality Virginia-produced and processed agricultural products. Since it began, the program has grown to more than 1300 participating agricultural, food and beverage companies.
Fresh produce, specialty foods, hams, peanuts, wine, potted plants and Christmas trees are just a few examples of the program's diverse offerings. Producers must apply for the right to use the Virginia’s Finest trademark, a red and blue checkmark forming the abbreviation for Virginia. Virginia's Finest food and beverage products are available in most gift, gourmet and specialty shops and in grocery stores.
Participating in the Farm Bureau trade show were:
Jerry Meyer of Big Fat Jerry’s Gourmet Seasonings, Clifton Forge, VA – gourmet seasonings for meats, vegetables, pasta, seafood and eggs
Don and Donna Stoneman, Don’s Best Sauce, Ridgeway, VA – The Sauce for Almost Anything – a mildly seasoned, thin-textured sauce with a ketchup-vinegar base
Glenn and Joan Clayton, Hungry Hill Farm, Shipman, VA – honey, beeswax candles, Shiitake mushrooms
Courtney Mackey, Chase Ware and Betty Carden, Virginia Heat, Inc., Richmond, VA – hot sauces
Pat Moomaw, Wholesome Foods, Inc., Edinburg, VA – artesian water, sugar-cured country ham, cooked country ham, fresh meat, deli meats, fresh poultry
Maryann and Lee Boho, The Williamsburg Chocolatier, Inc., Williamsburg, VA – chocolate confections, truffles, chocolate-covered pretzels, brownies, chocolate coffee stirring spoons and fudge. Maryann Boho was selected to host a live demonstration for trade show visitors.
